Note to viewer:  You can click on the tab that says "More" in the upper right hand corner to see more sites.  Dad (Harold Huston) joined the 30th Division, 119th Regiment, 2nd Battalion in Europe probably late in August or early September 1944.  The sites of Noorbeek, Aachen, The Battle of the Bulge and Into Germany were part of his war experience.  I added other sites before he came to Europe (St. Lo, Mortain, Across France) that were part of his unit's experience before he arrived.  I also added The Hurtgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge at Bastogne (Southern Shoulder) which were battles fought while he was there, but his unit was not part of those battles.

Mark has a library of about 50 books on the WW2 experience in Europe that detail different battles and perspectives.  He recommends the Combat History of the 119th Regiment, which can be found on-line at http://digicom.bpl.lib.me.us/ww_reg_his/49/.  Another very good overview book is The Fighting 30th Division, They Called Them Roosevelt's SS
